Moving Kids Toy, a partnership with Science4You and Pedro Seromenho

ProChild CoLAB is developing the «Moving Kids» Toy, in partnership with Science4You and children’s youth writer Pedro Seromenho.

This Toy, original and personalized to the Municipality of Guimarães and the needs of their children, offers them the opportunity to imagine, design and build a model of a place to play for everyone. «Moving Kids» aims to enhance the inclusion and at the same time, the movement, exploitation and use of play support vehicles.

The Toy will be launched in December and offered by the Municipality to ALL 4th-year children in public school education in the Municipality in the school year 2021/2022.

The conceptualization and development of this Toy were made by sociologist Gabriela Trevisan, architect Mariana Carvalho and designer Alexandra Ribeiro of ProChild CoLAB, under the coordination of Inês Guedes de Oliveira, professor at the University of Aveiro and Teresa Freire, professor at the University of Minho.

In the public presentation of the «Moving Kids» Toy, held on June 29, 2021, Professor Manuel Sarmento, member of the Executive Board of ProChild CoLAB, highlighted the collaborative nature of the design of this Toy and the differentiating element of being based on the social sciences.

This Partnership is another step in fulfilling our mission by valuing non-formal education by promoting artistic, playful and creative education in schools and the involvement of children in the granting of urban spaces adapted to their needs.

This «Moving Kids» Toy, can be customized for other Municipalities and other realities and contexts, so we are available for collaborative development offering new customized solutions. Contact us via email: geral@prochildcolab.pt.

«Moving Kids», the Toy is a story without an endpoint!
